Science and Engineering Experience Kamp

Science and Engineering
Experience Kamp (SEEK)
Mission Statement

To pique the interest of young people to explore science and engineering.

SEEK works toward fulfilling its mission by providing three services:

I.  SEEK Alaska Academic Summer Camp

SEEK Alaska is a 5-day academic summer camp focused on science and engineering. The camps investigate science, math, and engineering through hands-on experiments and projects. Our summer camps teach proven methodologies of scientific research and engineering design including; the scientific method, experimentation, design constraints, problem solving, and effective communication. The students apply the knowledge and skills gained in practical exercises and friendly competitions.

A Parent Testimonial:

“If you are looking for the perfect summer academic opportunity, SEEK is a great option for your students to make great gains in science and engineering knowledge. Two of our sons participated in the SEEK Camp two or three summers ago. It was one of the most enriching experiences they have ever had. The two instructors were great with the students, challenging them right where they needed to be challenged, yet supporting them right where they needed to be supported. Look at the site and read the feedback page. Check out the whole site…It tells it like it is.”

What do SEEK Alaska students learn? They learn that technical topics are not too tough or too mysterious. They can do it! Through hands-on lab projects, science and engineering can be fun.

SEEK Alaska enhances the technical experience of any student interested in science or engineering, students competing in Science Fairs, or students schooled at home that want more hands-on science and engineering lessons.

III.  SEEK Traveling Exhibits

SEEK often hosts a booth at fairs or kid's carnivals whose purpose is to improve the welfare of children. The hands-on science and engineering experiments are tailored for the audience expected and are fun and interactive.
